Honda Canada, Campus Master Plan

We were retained to determine the feasibility of developing a new 500,000 s.f. corporate office campus for Honda Canada.

We were retained to determine the feasibility of developing a new 500,000 s.f. corporate office campus for Honda Canada within a linear belt of prestige business park lands along Highway 404 in the Town of Richmond Hill. in joint venture with HOK Architects.

To aid in the ongoing consultations/negotiations with the authorities, our team collected and co-ordinated expert opinions and input from a multidisciplinary team of professionals during the course of the study.

New findings and changing regulatory positions, including, most notably, amended interpretations of both the local secondary plan and the management criteria of the valley land watershed corridor, were an ongoing challenge. In exchange for a number of sustainable design strategies and top-of-bank improvements, the valley land management criteria were relaxed. This, along with the municipality’s revised interpretation of the secondary plan, allowed for a development scheme that fulfilled Honda’s preferred development criteria.
